Becky’s Puppies Week 4

Friday, August 28th, 2009

Week 4 and all are doing very well. The puppies are all growing and are very large for only being 4 weeks old. They are very alert and noisy, barking and romping all around. You would have to think they were 5 weeks old instead of 4 weeks old. There size and appetites have put a strain on Becky and she is becoming an unhappy mother at this point. She only likes to stay with them a short period of time. We decided to try and feed them yesterday and there was no trying about it. They all dug right in to the mashed up puppy chow like they have been eating for a week. It is in creditable the way this litter has progressed so fast.

Miracle’s Big Day!!!!

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Miracle had her big day today; she went to her new home. She was extremely excited to go. It has been a wonderful experience to see her grow from birth to such a wonderful little puppy. She was truly a “Miracle” to see her desire to survive and progress to this point. She will be missed by both of us but knowing she is going to a wonderful family is a great relief to us. She will also have a brother by one of our other litters living with her, boy is he in for a surprise.

Becky’s puppies at week 3

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Rock & Becky’s puppies are 3 weeks old today. They are all doing well at this stage, their eyes are open and they are running all around the whelping pen. They are very alert and respond to every noise they here, they even are barking when they hear our other dogs bark. Becky has to stand up to feed them, there is no waiting in line with this bunch, and they all maul her at once. As for Becky she continues to eat way beyond our budget. She has been a good mother for her first litter and very tolerant of the puppies mauling her the way they do.

Becky’s Puppies week 2

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Long night; I took my son his wife and my granddaughter to LaGuardia airport. We had to be their by 4:00AM for their flight to Colorado Springs, it was an experience for all of us. Road construction every place we went, detour’s and missing exit signs. They are moving to Colorado Springs and I will miss them dearly, hopefully all will go well for them. I was so glad to see a road sign that said Middletown 16 miles.

Becky’s puppies are 2 weeks today and are doing great. They are all starting to stand and attempting to walk and their eyes are beginning to open. Hard to believe they are 2 weeks old, they look much bigger then 2 weeks. They are all just about the same size and can be very noisy at times especially when they are hungry. Becky is eating us out of house and home and is doing an excellent job as a mother.week 2

Rock X Becky week 1

Friday, August 7th, 2009

Becky’s puppies are 1 week old today and they are all doing real good. They have all doubled in size and move all over the whelping pen. The yellows all have a copper color to them and are real nice and dark. The black’s are nice and shinny. There are 9 total, 3 yellow males, 2 yellow females, 2 black males and 2 black females. This is Becky’s 1st litter and she is doing an excellent job at this point, we try to keep her away from them for 30 or 40 minutes several times a day but she makes it difficult. Her only desire is to be with her young ones. I had felt she would be a good mother once she got the hang of it but I never dreamed she would be so focused on her puppies like she is. Hopefully everything will continue for the next 4 and half weeks. The problem at this point seems like it will occur when we start to try and feed the pups and keep Becky away for longer periods of time. If that is the only problem then we will work with it at the time and we will both be happy that is the only problem!!!!! week 1
